Types of Pokemon: Origins, Battle Strategy, and Type Match-Ups
Pokemon GO is definitely an augmented reality game that's swept the world. But, if you're a new comer to it or wish to find out about types, this post is going to be ideal for you!
Types:
Pokemon come in different types. While most people know you will find three different categories of Pokemon, the first step to being fully a great trainer is understanding what type each Pokemon belongs to. You will find 18 total types of Pokemon GO!
Keyterms:
Type match-ups and Base Stats. A type match is simply taking a look at two different pokemon type chart and seeing which you might win should they fought against each other. For example, water beats Fire because water extinguishes Fire.
Water has double effectiveness on Fire Types, while Fire doesn't affect Water Types. This is because the base stat for these respective moves will be 180 power vs 70 power points, respectively (which means water doesdamage). The reverse could be true for a fire type move vs. a water type pokemon: Fire moves have higher base power points than Water Moves.
Importance:
Type Match-ups and Base Stats are essential because it provides us insight on how we can use them to the advantage when battling another trainer's Pokemon! Additionally, knowing these match-ups will help you determine which kinds of Pokemon you should attempt to collect.
For example, in case a large band of people locally enjoy collecting grass types, then that must mean they know the advantages of having those types out during battle.
There are numerous different combinations possible with 18 total Types, but only 17 unique combinations. The reason being Normal Type Pokemon aren't a type around they're just there for points and balance out the chart!
Conclusion:
Pokemon types are an important section of any game they seem in (with hardly any exceptions). In virtually every case, they know very well what Pokemon will benefit from each other as teammates allow it to be easier for players to build stronger teams and be involved in competitive play without feeling too overwhelmed by all options available.
