An Emery Board is a specialized tool used to carefully grind the edges of cut nails to the desired shape and size. Nails are cut frequently in pedicures, bonding, long straight cuts or exclusively for nail fun. After the nail is trimmed using proper nail clippers, they are then often found in pedicures and acrylics after the natural nail is completely shaped using proper nail trimming tools. Nail files may be metal, glass, acrylic, plain, corundum and other specialized metal files.
Previously, there have been only two types of cutting tools: Emery boards and glass nail files. Today, you'll find a wide selection of all various kinds of tools that could assist you to cut your nails. Some are a lot better than others. Although it appears like they're similar, in fact they are very different tools. The next description briefly describes each different form of cutter.
An Emery board basically appears like a set, smooth surface, but the truth is, it includes tiny nicks that cut through the most effective layer of cuticle. This allows the nail to maneuver up and down smoothly from the natural nail shape. These boards are generally manufactured from metal, but there are a few that are made of plastic, which are far more comfortable to work with. This sort of cutter includes a thin and light plastic blade that's pushed underneath the nails to cut them. To get rid of the file, the nail must be pulled slightly away from the board.
One of the most common Emery boards are those that are made of plastic. These have an increasing lip over the the surface of the plastic which prevents an individual from slipping on the slanted surface. Another good thing about these boards is that they are ideal for working on nails that are too much time or crooked. In addition they tend to go rather easily. If you are using too much pressure when attempting to remove the file from an Emery board , the file may damage the nail or worse scrape your skin beneath the nail.
